Healthy Backpacker's Chia Banana Oatmeal
1/2 cup quick oats
1 tsp chia seeds
1 tsp powdered milk
1/2 banana sliced (dehydrated and soaked if backpacking)
1 tsp raw cane sugar
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1/8 tsp nutmeg
Dash of salt
1 cup water
Combine all ingredients in a ziplock (minus fresh banana if you're packing it in). Bring your water to a boil at camp. Carefully pour your water into your ziplock and seal. Squish it around with your fingers and let it cook itself for five minutes. Keep it warm while it cooks, I suggest using my insulated coozy. It works great.
