Backpacker's Lightweight Overnight Tropical Quinoa
I generally like my mornings on the trail to be hassle-free. This overnight recipe is perfect for that. The quinoa will need to be cooked and dried at home before hitting the trail, so just don’t forget to include that step. If you take it in without cooking first, you will have to cook it all together in the morning for ten minutes on you backpacking stove. I love the idea of saving fuel, so many of my breakfasts are just let to sit overnight.

1/2 c quinoa, cooked and dehydrated at home first
1/2 peach, dehydrated and diced
2 tbsp shredded, unsweetened coconut
1 tbsp dried milk
1 tbsp raw honey, I use Nature Nate’s single serve packs
1/2 c water
Put all of your ingredients together in a Ziplock at home. At camp the night before, add in a cup of water and swish it around to make sure it’s all mixed. In the morning it will be ready to eat. You can always heat it up if the morning is cold, but it’s not necessary.
